THANK YOU for being interested in Autism Awareness and TEAM CHARLIE!!  We would never have been able to help Charlie be who he is today without a lot of support from family and friends.  One of my favorite things is being around people who haven’t seen Charlie in several months (or maybe even in a year) and they acknowledge his progress.  When we were first finding real help for Charlie, we happened to travel to see the Kerns.  Aunt Diane walked up to Joe and said “Charlie talks!”  It felt like she joined Team Charlie’s starting lineup right then along with a growing team of people cheering for Charlie.  That was a long time ago.  Since then, Charlie’s team has grown as people continue to appreciate his successes and hard work.  Team Charlie includes 3 brothers, 6 uncles, 7 aunts, 18 cousins, an entire junior class, a district full of teachers, and the list goes on….  This year, TeamCharlie even added a prom date!  Chances are, you’ve been a part of lots of teams.  I hope you consider yourself  part of TeamCharlie too.
